Who Am I?

I am a professional vocal artist with over 16 years of onstage experience and 10 years of recording experience. My voice is most commonly described as “angelic” by listeners. I blend intricate vocal riffs, ethereal soaring melodic lines and soulful delivery.  I aim to alchemize my healing journey into sound waves that soothe the soul and invite listeners into parasympathetic states of relaxation, enjoyment, and groove. I am transformed continually by the medicine of the trees, land, birds, water, and wind and offer myself as a vessel for Mother’s voice to pour through.

My Story

I grew up in Maryland listening to R&B, classic rock, pop, and progressive rock with my father who is a software engineer by day and gifted guitar shredder / self-produced recording artist by night. I got my start singing onstage in church at 11 years old. When the lead singer of the worship team fell ill one morning, I was asked to learn all the songs in 1 hour to perform for the congregation. My only question was “can I look at the lyrics?” I immediately became one of the core members of the adult worship team.

I went on to study classically with an operatic teacher and sung choral music competitively through my teenage years until I was bitten by the jazz bug. When my dad introduced me to the work of Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday, I became determined to study jazz music. I earned a Bachelors degree in Jazz Voice with a focus in Music Technology from Howard University’s prestigious Jazz program, where I toured with vocal ensemble Afro Blue and performed onstage with artists including Kelly Clarkson, Esperanza Spalding, and Chance the Rapper. In my spare time, I taught music lessons and worked on honing her understanding of music theory and production.

In 2021 I hit the road in my van, making my living busking and teaching music lessons online. I busked my way through Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Louisiana, until I caught feelings for St. Petersburg. Florida. I continue to write, record, and produce my own songs and contribute to collaborative projects including my duo project No Radio with drum/production virtuoso Dimitri Fantini and Colorado-based psychedelic jam band Salamander Collective. I continue to push the bounds of my artistry as a solo performer with live looping, dripping with rich vocal harmony and live percussion.

As I finds my tribe in St. Pete, I am excited to see what new opportunities and collaborations unfold. I will always be called back to the mountains, but I am happy to be enjoying this lush, tropical landing place as a home base between my wild, nomadic van adventures.
